Our Infant Program provides a warm and loving “home like” atmosphere for each and every child. Infants explore with all their senses (seeing, hearing, tasting, touching and smelling). We provide lots of opportunity for stimulation through age appropriate activities such as touch, song, gross motor activities, fine motor activities, water play, multicultural music, and stories.
Our two year old program is very flexible and focuses on meeting the individual needs of the child. It provides lots of opportunity for exploration and manipulation. Children learn self-help skills i.e. dressing and undressing, using utensils etc. language development through a variety of activities i.e. felt stories, puppets, songs, pictures etc. and large and small muscle development (fine/gross motor) through activities such as finger painting, bean bag toss, dance, water play (pouring, scooping etc.).
Our Junior Kindergarten Program is designed to prepare children for Kindergarten. Our goal is to further develop your child’s receptive and expressive language, concepts ( color, shape, size),letter and number recognition, problem solving skills, social skills and more. Learning through hands on experiences with concrete materials help the children acquire new knowledge and understanding of the world around them.
Our Kindergarten Program helps to prepare children for Grade One. The program consists of letter and number recognition, art and crafts, music, science, math, language arts, social skills, problem solving skills, pre-reading skills and more. The program is developed to support the children’s individual development and needs. It has a good balance of structured time, free play and group activities. Learning is fun for the children and they enjoy and experience success in learning.
Our After School Program is designed to allow children the chance to “Whined Down” after a long day. Children are given the opportunity to get a start on homework if they choose, join in on some table top activities, or burn off some energy during our outdoor activities. Our school aged children will also have the opportunity further enhance their social skills, problem solving skills, creativity etc. while participating in our afternoon activities and interacting with the other children and staff members.
Some approaches we take in integrating children with special needs into our program are making adaptation to activities that they are engaged in as well as modifying group time programs that will benefit them academically.
